VERONICA Conway Cup action saw Chris Griffiths and Gary Duckers score for Stirrup Sports & Social, with Mike Burke and Terry Cotgrave scoring for Queens Park as the game ended 2-2 after extra-time.

It was Stirrup that held their nerve in the penalty shoot-out to knock out the favourites and take their place in the next round.

Extra-time was also required in the David Tacy Cup as Shaftsbury 'A' (Bell, Large, Griffiths) won 3-2 at Allport Athletic (Jacques Bonfrer 2) and Lancelyn Glenavon (James Beattie, Dean Corris, Alfie Heywood, Andy Jones) won 4-3 at Riley’s FC (Taafe, Loftus, Ashcroft).

In the Tony Houlihan's Memorial Challenge Cup round five, Bidston Hotel were too strong for Armchair Alliance as goals from Liam Casey (2), Mark McNoon, Jamie Brown and Tommy Baker, sealed a 5-2 win.

Round two of the Presidents Cup saw Churchwood beat Tower 1-0 thanks to a Ben Holmes effort and Birkenhead Youth 'B' beat Lions 3-0; Ross Parry, Scott Connolly and Matty Roberts on target.

Rangers Breaks (John Cook) and FC Ridger Athletic needed penalties to decide a winner in the Rocky’s Gym Cup after finishing 1-1; it was Ridger that went through after the shoot-out.

Shaftsbury 'B' (Lawler 2, Verdin, Caulfield) knocked Merebrook (Kieran Hughes, Tommy Belton, Carl Boyd) out of the Tony Smith Cup 4-3 after extra-time and Millcroft defeated PSV Athletic 3-0, thanks to goals from Billy Richards, Mark Fitzpatrick and Jack Brookes.

In the Stephen Dean Bowl, Glenavon Youth (Connor Egan, Tom Fenley) won 2-1 at AC Hoylake JFC (Tom O’Neill) and John Dawson scored the only goal of the game as Vauxhall Colts beat Shore Villa Youth 1-0. 

Ashville Colts knocked Vauxhall Youth out of the Trafalgar Shield, Luke Street, Callum Smith, Dean Fleming and Joel Addy scoring in the 4-1 win.

In the Premier Division, leaders Rock Ferry Social had two goals from Josh Hughes to thank for a narrow 2-1 win against Laird’s Sports Club (Kieran Delaney).

Dock stay in the title battle following efforts from Mike McGraa and Jamie Kenyon in their 2-1 success at Argyll (Scallion).

Upton Villa lost ground at the top as goals from Steve Forbes, Lee Yarlett and Jon Squirrell, gave Heygarth the points in a 3-1 win.

Adam Lea, John Paul Wheadon and Ryan Thompson scored for Shore Villa in a 3-2 win at Brow (Jack Ford, Ray Cox).

The only Division One game saw Joe Morgan get the winner for Saddle Club as they beat AFC Arrowe Park 1-0.

AFC Houlihans (Kyle Kelly, Tom Neal) won 2-1 at FC Ellies (Luke Ivory) in the only Division Two game. 

Division three saw Billy New score twice, with singles for Brian Hilley and Liam Croft as Woodward won 4-3 against Beechwood Falcons (Declan Taylor, Connor McDonald, Karl Evans). 

Peter Rynolds and Ian Duckworth scored for Shawcross in a 2-1 result against FC Vaults (Dave Ratcliff) and Wirral Spartans (Josh Woods 2, Nick King) shared the points with Old Parkonians (James Pleavin, Tony Briggs, Gaz Earnden) in a 3-3 draw.
