Motors' unbeaten run comes to abrupt end

Bradford Park Avenue – 2 Vauxhall Motors – 0
MOTORS' unbeaten run came to an abrupt end at The Horsfall Stadium as Bradford Park Avenue claimed all three points following first half strikes from Richard Marshall and Tom Corner.
Following an uneventful first thirty minutes, Motors almost took the lead when winger Craig Mahon rounded keeper John Lamb but then pulled his shot wide of the goal.
The home side broke the deadlock on 34 minutes when the Motormen failed to clear a corner and Richard Marshall poked the ball home from close range following a goalmouth scramble.
Bradford doubled their advantage just a minute before half-time when striker Tom Corner beat stand-in keeper Craig Ellison with a fine strike from 20 yards out.
After the interval, Motors started to get back into the game with Mike Burns having a free-kick tipped over the crossbar and Tom Rutter hitting the post with an exquisite overhead kick.
On 85 minutes, Motors almost pulled a goal back when Ashley Stott hit the crossbar with a volley on the edge of the penalty area after a Mike Burns corner was only half cleared.
Despite an improved second half performance, Vauxhall were unable to convert their chances and have now dropped to eleventh in the Blue Square Bet North league table.
Vauxhall: Ellison, Wainwright, Barnes (Koscis), Hannigan, Nicholas, Noone, Mahon, Anoruo, Rutter, Stott, Burns.
Subs not used: Moss, Martindale, Wright.
