Houlihan's Birkenhead Sunday League
12:52pm Monday 28th January 2013 in Sport By Dave Innelli
THE Houlihan's Birkenhead Sunday League will have a representative in the last four of the Cheshire FA Sunday Cup after Queens Park managed to get their game played against Offerton FC.
The efforts to beat the weather paid off as goals from Mike Burke, Kevin Oates and Dave Bowe, sealed a 3-0 win and a semi-final place, where they will face top Stockport Sunday League side Cale Green.
Queens Park are also in a strong position in their Premier Division campaign; they currently lie three points behind Rock Ferry Social but have three games in hand. Upton Villa, Shore Villa and Dock FC.
Lions FC lead the way in Division One but will be likely to face a strong challenge from the likes of Churchwood.
Shaftesbury 'B' hold pole position in Division Two with a six point lead, however, if AFC Houlihans and FC Ridger win their games in hand, it could still be a close battle for the title.
Division Three leaders are Allport Athletic, with Victoria Lodge managing to stay close in second place and Old Parkonians and Armchair Alliance having games in hand.
Vauxhall Colts look favourites for the Youth Division at this stage, just ahead of Glenavon Youth.
With the amount of postponed games over the last couple of months, teams face a hectic run-in during the second-half of the season, particularly clubs who have already had a good run in the cup competitions.
