NEW Brighton had to settle for eighth place in the Bridging Finance Solutions Liverpool Competition Premier Division after a cricket season of mixed fortunes.

They can look forward to local derbies against Wallasey in 2013. Wallasey topped Division One thanks to recording eleven victories and gained promotion.

Birkenhead Park and Parkfield Liscard are preparing for life in Division One after taking the top two places in the Division Two table.

Caldy finished eighth in Division Two but sadly Birkenhead St Mary’s were in bottom place.

It was not the best of seasons for the two local sides in the Premier Division of the Chapel Press Cheshire County League.

Oxton did reasonably well for sixth place but Neston were third bottom and only just escaped relegation.

Irby finished at the foot of Division One and will go down a tier. Upton with four wins were next to bottom in Division Two.

Parkonians just survived in Division One of the Cheshire Alliance thanks to a last day success.

It was Wirral dominated in Division Three with Port Sunlight first, Tranmere Vics second and Eastham Bromborough third.

Wirral managed seventh place in Division Three of the Meller Braggins Cheshire League.

The new campaign in 2013 will begin in late April.
