NEW Brighton rounded off the season in the Bridging Finance Solutions Liverpool Competition Premier League with an eight wickets home success over Rainford.

The visitors were restricted to 155 with Louis Botes claiming 3-25 and Ashraf Nawab 3-50. Botes 79 and Neil Cross 70 then enjoyed an unbroken third wickets partnership of 146 to see the seasiders home.

Wallasey finished a successful campaign in Division One with a 91 runs margin at Liverpool.

Chris Bourne top scored with 38 and the successful bowlers were Andrew Ward with 4-5 and Liam Crilly 3-16.

Caldy took the Division Two derby against Birkenhead St Mary’s by 21 runs. Alec Stewart top-scored with 43 and Dave Kay finished with 4-42. Best for Mary’s were Zahed Mohammed 3-32, Mike Bowe 3-12 and Dave Stewart 39.

Parkfield Liscard came away winners by 51 runs from Old Xaverians. Grant Hughes 43 and Dave Hadden 41 put on 86 for the first wicket. Kamran Hussain troubled Xavs with a 5-36 return.

Birkenhead Park were too strong for Burscough in a six wickets success.

Chris Stenhouse 50 and Matt Howard 49 enjoyed an unbroken 118 partnership after early wickets fell cheaply.

There were defeats for Neston and Oxton on the last day of the season in the Chapel Press Cheshire County League Premier Division.

Neston failed by 14 runs at Macclesfield despite a big effort by Paul Stimson who finished with 6-38.

Oxton went down by 102 runs at Urmston where Gayan Fernando took 5-58.

Irby fell by 22 runs at Heaton Moor in Division One. Ray Houghton 3-32 and Danny Gulliver 35 did their best.

Upton posted 200-4 declared at home to Timperley in Division Two but it was not enough as the visitors triumphed by six wickets.

Batsmen in form for Upton were Mark Priaulx 58, Jared Van Heerden 46 and Darren Warburton 43 not out.

Parkonians retained their place in Division One of the Cheshire Alliance with a fine 123 runs victory at Rylands.

Greg Lindop hit an undefeated 55 and Will Walker was out for the same score. Tim Hitchell 5-27 and 5-28 helped skittle Rylands for 86.

Port Sunlight were conceded their Division Three game against Kerridge but Tranmere Vics lost at Haslington II by 108 runs. Kishanth Varatharaju claimed 4-73 for Vics.

Eastham Bromborough made it by 49 runs against visiting Frodsham II. Best on the day were Dave Downham with 55 and Mike Hooks with 4-21.

Wirral in Division Three of the Meller Braggins Cheshire League lost by two wickets against visiting Barrow after declaring on 197-6.
