BIRKENHEAD Park hosted Wallasey in a First XI Liverpool and District Premier League tie at Birkenhead Park last Saturday.

Park won the toss and elected to bat with opener Chris Davies (57 off 176 balls) top scoring before falling to a catch from Thomas Russ off the bowling of Neil Cross.

Davies’s steadfastness, however, was not matched by any of his teammates, with only Syed Abid (13) and Craig Reid (16) making double figures.

Nigel Jackson was run out from the final ball closing the Birkenhead innings for a modest 121 runs.

Wallasey captain Daniel Beaver top scored for the visitors with 42 off 51 balls including six fours and one maximum.
