NEW Brighton are all but the Liverpool Competition Premier League champions after the latest matches over the holiday weekend.

The seasiders took the local derby at Wallasey on Monday by six wickets and now have a massive 57 points lead over nearest rivals Ormskirk who lost again and look to have given up on the title chase.

Wallasey batted first but their 122 total was never going to be enough.

Alex Eagle was top scorer for Wallasey with 35 and the best Brighton bowlers were Ashraf Nawab with 3-25 and David While 3-28.

While also hit 36 for the winners whose top bat on the day was Andrew Clarke with an unbeaten 46 as they cruised to victory.

Sadly defeat for Wallasey leaves them ten points adrift of safety and next to bottom in the table.

Birkenhead Park enjoyed a six wickets success over visiting Leigh.

Luke Camden led the way with an unbeaten 74.

Ian Daniel contributed 55 and Rob Houghton took 4-51.

Caldy claimed the Division Two derby at Parkfield Liscard by six wickets.

Barrie White with 48 helped the combined side reach 202-8.

A fine century opening stand via Simon Simcox (75) and Chris Edwards (64) put Caldy in control.
