UPTON claimed the bragging rights after a 65 runs victory in the Cheshire County League Division Two derby against Irby.

Upton posted 145 after being asked to bat first.

Lloyd Eastham took 3-46 for Irby, but then the visiting batsmen failed and were dismissed for 80.

Rich Battersby was key for Upton with a 5-26 haul.

Neston had to settle for a draw in their Premier Division game at Cheadle who closed four runs behind with two wickets intact.

Oxton in Division One lost by 65 runs at home to Urmston. Mahash Rajaraine did his best with 4-64 and top score of 34.

Birkenhead Park and New Brighton were victorious and Wallasey drew in the Premier Division of the Liverpool Competition.

Park made it by just three runs in a tense affair against Rainhill. Chris Davies 54 and Luke Camden 42 batted well for the winners and their successful bowlers on the day were Khalid Wahbi with 4-52 and Rob Houghton 4-55.

New Brighton despatched Lytham by 133 runs. Martyn Evans finished with 5-14 as Lytham were dismissed for 89.

Chief run makers for the seasiders who were asked to bat first were Luke Proctor 56, Upal Fernando 50 not out and David While 46.

Wallasey closed on 159-9 at Northern who had declared on 190-8. Chris Bourne for Wallasey made an un beaten 38 and also took 3-41.

All three local sides in Division Two were defeated.

Birkenhead St Mary's crashed by nine wickets at Spring View.

They won the toss and batted first but were back in the pavilion for just 78 with Adam Seabury on 23 the best contributor.

The home side needed just nineteen overs to clinch victory.

Parkfield Liscard fell by 124 runs at Burscough.

Inderdip Singh with 4-58 helped restrict the home side to 190-7 but then the combined side failed with the bat and were all out for a meagre 66. Sadret Depleza did his best with 35 not out.

Chris Edwards contributed 54 for Caldy but visiting Orrell Red Triangle triumphed by six wickets.

Old Parkonians went under by 23 runs at Rylands in Division Two of the Cheshire Alliance.

Adam Westwater and Ben Rees each claimed 4-38 for Parks who were all out 117 chasing 140. Paul Taylor was undefeated on 39.

Port Sunlight in Division Three of the Cheshire League fought hard at Alderley Park before missing out by two wickets. Wayne Greve reached 73 not out and Simon Melberzs took 5-74.
