WALLASEY put up a determined display to deny New Brighton success in the Liverpool Competition Premier League derby, but the seasiders are back in with an outside chance in the title hunt as leaders Ormskirk fell to defeat at the hands of Northern.

Brighton asked Wallasey to bat first and they grafted out 200-9 in 63.3 overs with Dan Beaver hitting 60 and LS Lakmal 45. Mark Hale finished with 4-26.

The home side reached 180-5 off 21 overs. Luke Proctor led the way with an undefeated 91.

Birkenhead Park came away six runs to the good from Bootle. Bowlers to shine were Rob Houghton 5-53 and Chris Stenhouse 5-46. Dan Jordan top scored on 45.

Parkfield Liscard took the Division Two derby at Caldy by four wickets. Kamran Hussein played a key role with a 6-32 return.

Birkenhead St Mary's lost by nine wickets at Prestatyn.

Neston climbed away from the Cheshire County League Premier Division relegation zone with an eight wickets success at Urmston.

David Hurst (66) and Will Evans (49) enjoyed an unbeaten third wicket partnership of 99. Ash Davis took 4-38.

Oxton are second bottom after a seven wickets defeat at Marple. Gayan Fernando did his best with 45.

Irby climbed out of the Division Two danger zone with a 90 runs win at Bredbury St Marks. Dave Newman top scored with 70. Greg Shillinglaw scored 55 and also took 3-31.

Upton were dismissed for 70 at Warrington and lost by 110 runs.

Port Sunlight head Division One of the Cheshire Alliance by 31 points after an easy ten wickets success at Saughall.

Tranmere Vics top Division Two by 30 points after seeing off visiting Rylands by seven wickets.

Eastham & Bromborough in Division Three beat Mossley by 119 runs.

Ian Corner jnr finished undefeated on 115 and Mark Griffiths was out one short of a half century. Top of the bowling honours was Richard Smith with 6-21.
