THE start of the cricket season for local clubs is only six weeks away.
Upton, who will play in Division Two of the Cheshire County League this season, open with a home game against Tattenhall on April 19. Irby, in the same division, will head for Stockport.
Premier Division fixtures include Neston at Chester Broughton Hall and Oxton at Hyde.
In the Premier Division of the Liverpool & District Competition newly promoted Birkenhead Park will have Northern as visitors.
Wallasey welcome Maghull with New Brighton due at Bootle.
Parkfield Liscard have gone down to Division Two and face an opening day local derby at Birkenhead St Mary’s.Caldy will have home advantage against Hightown. Wirral are the only local representatives in Cheshire League and their first match sees CH Ladybridge providing the opposition at Clatterbridge.
