BIRKENHEAD Park and Birkenhead St Mary's were the only local winners in the latest round of matches in the Liverpool & District Competition.

Park maintained their promotion push in Division One with a 62 runs margin at Rainford. Rob Houghton played a key role with a 6-52 haul.

Batsmen to the fore were Adrian Kinsey 49, Chris Foran 45 and Adam Liu 40.

St Mary's in Division Two saw off visiting Wavertree by two wickets. Sam Black on 64 not out enjoyed a match winning 67 runs partnership with Dane Bryan 10 not out.

Muhammad Ghafoor contributed 54 and Bryan took 4-37.

In the Premier Division New Brighton lost by 77 runs at Lytham while Wallasey were held to a draw by Maghull.

Louis Botes 31 and Adnan Ghaus 3-20 were best for the seasiders.

Neil Cross hit 70 and took 3-28 for Wallasey. Craig Kaye also batted well for to finish undefeated on 58.

Maghull closed 31 runs behind Wallasey with two wickets standing.

Parkfield Liscard in Division One went under by five wickets at home to Orrell Red Triangle after being dismissed for just 72.

There was agony for Caldy in Division Two as the last Skelmersdale pair won the day at Paton Field. Best for Caldy were Haroon Khan 50, Matt Marks 43 and Stewart Piley 6-84.

Neston won but Oxton lost in the Premier Division of the Cheshire County League.

David Hurst 55, Luke Camden 51 and Chris Hackett 5-30 made their mark for Neston in a four wickets success at Alderley Edge.

Oxton were hit for 297 at Hyde and then collapsed to 154 all out. Marc de Brabander posted 46 and James Fennah 45.

Irby in Division Two were crushed at Weaverham after being bowled out for a meagre 80.

Upton were thwarted by the last Hale Barns pair in Division One of the Cheshire League. The visitors closed on 158-9 chasing a 181 all out score by Upton.

Wirral in Division Three had a five wickets margin at home to Pott Shrigley Old Parkonians accounted for Wistaston Village by four wickets in Division One of the Cheshire Alliance. Nick Hitchell top scored with 70 and Will Walker made 67.

Ellesmere Port had five wickets to spare at home to Wilmslow Wayfarers. Paul Betteridge with 5-40 played a big part.

Port Sunlight and Tranmere Vics both won in Division Two.

The Soapmen had 145 runs to spare against Offerton. Danny Van Den Berg 87 and 3-30, Wayne Greve 53 and Adam Crosby 3-26 played their part.
