NESTON crushed Oxton by seven wickets in the Cheshire County League Premier Division derby at Holm Lane.

Oxton were restricted to 198-8 in 55 overs with Marc de Brabander 43 and Simon Stokes 42 the best of the batsmen.

Jack Smith unbeaten on 103 and Dave Williams 63 saw Neston home in style. Smith included 16 fours and a six in his century.

Irby in Division Two went under by five wickets at Timperley after they were dismissed for 144.

New Brighton eased home by eight wickets against visiting Hightown in the Premier Division of the Liverpool and District Competition.

The seasiders asked Hightown to bat first and they struggled against the bowling of Ashraf Nawab 6-57 and David While 4-28.

The Hightown 134 total was never going to be enough as Luke Proctor 68 and Louis Botes 62 enjoyed an unbeaten 114 partnership for the winners.

Wallasey were happy with a 101 runs margin at Fleetwood Hesketh. Players in form were Neil Cross 43, Graham Reid 40 and Liam Crilly 6-48.

Birkenhead Park in Division One sneaked in by two wickets at Formby to maintain their title hopes. Chris Foran top scored with 68 and Whabi contributed 43.

Parkfield Liscard figured in a high scoring home draw against Ainsdale.

They declared on 295-5. Kamran Hussein led the way with an unbeaten 123 which included sixteen fours and two sixes. Mohammed Zulfiqar made 79 and Grant Hughes 40.

Hussein followed up with 4-68 as the visitors closed seven runs behind with three wickets intact.

Birkenhead St Mary's in Division Two had to settle for a draw at home to Alder. Muhammad Ghafoor scored 108 and Mike Bowe 70 in a declared St Mary’s score of 309-5.

Alder closed 102 runs adrift with three wickets intact.

Caldy fell by seven wickets at Sefton Park where they were dismissed for just 117.

Upton saw off Malpas by 21 runs in Division One of the Cheshire League. Simon Evans top scored with 59 and the bowler to shine was Simon Magowan with a 6-48 return.

Wirral drew with Sandbach in a thriller in Division Three. The visitors declared on 219-7 and Wirral were 219-8 at stumps.

Old Parkonians lost by four wickets at home to Appleton in Division One of the Cheshire Alliance.

Nick Hitchell missed his century by a single run. He and Craig Hawthorne 68 put on 156 for the third wicket.

Parks posted 211-9 but despite the efforts of Chris Beckett 4-68 Appleton eased home.

Ellesmere Port won the toss and batted first at home to Wistaston Village but were shot out for 68 and fell by six wickets.

There were victories for Port Sunlight and Tranmere Vics in Division Two.

It was tight for Sunlight as Danny Van der Berg hit the winning run with one wicket standing. He finished unbeaten on 76.

Daniel Hamm took 4-13 for Vics who made it by six wickets at Norbury.
