A NEW name has gone onto The George O'Neil Team Pairs Tournament, the finals of which were played on Saturday at Cammell Laird.
West Kirby Park beat ESWA Arriva in the semi-final and then Gladstone, winners for the last two years. Most of the games in the final were very close, but West Kirby made the most of their advantage in the handicapping and, in the end, won fairly comfortably.
Meanwhile, the New Brighton Classic took place last Monday on the two greens at New Brighton Cricket Club and the final saw an excellent match between two local players, Rob Fitzpatrick finally succeeding against Matt Gilmore 21-14.

19.
Semi-finals: Gilmore 21, Merry 8; Fitzpatrick 21, Jones 9.
