SAILING: River Mersey races hampered by winds
11:03am Monday 15th October 2012 in Sport By Andrew Stratton
COMPETITORS in the latest Liverpool Yacht Club/Tranmere Sailing Club races on the River Mersey found progress slow in light winds.
There were no finishers in the Saturday competition in the Venture series but there was better luck for the yachts in the Early Autumn series on Sunday which attracted sixteen starters.
Class A was claimed by Eezee Tiger owned by Jonathan Oliver. Richard Booth was runner-up in Another Nods with third place going to Mighty Max (Neil Thomas).
Tango in the hands of Richard Baldwin took Class B from Legless (David Hughes) and Di-Rich (Adele.McKenna).
There is more competition this coming weekend with early afternoon starts.
