New Brighton success in Peninsula Sevens tournament

NEW Brighton RUFC staged a successful first-ever Peninsula Sevens Tournament at Hartsfield last Saturday.
Players had to contend with sweltering conditions but there was plenty of entertainment for the watchers on.
St Edwards won the Sevens Cup final, Parkonians claimed the Shield and hosts New Brighton took the Plate.
Still to come is the Akuma Caldy Sevens at Paton Field on June 23 when there will be a 10am start. Players from home and abroad will be in action and it should be quite an occasion although much later than usual and well out of normal season time.
