VAUXHALL will feel frustrated and disappointed that they didn’t leave Coronation Park with all three points after they produced a superb battling display against 4th placed Eastwood town.
There were very few chances in this game played on a pitch in a poor condition.
Both sides started brightly but Eastwood had the first couple of chances.
Man-of-the-match Brian Moogan did well to stop Meikle as he burst into the box on six minutes and two minutes later Moogan was on hand again to clear a dangerous cross from Ross Gardner.
Vauxhall were looking solid at the back and began to create chances, hitting the Badgers on the break.
Early in the second half, Captain Josh Wilson lead a quick attack and was unlucky not to find Karl Noon, with the Eastwood defenders struggling to get back.
Wilson then volleyed over from the edge of the box which was blocked after Dodgson’s corner had bypassed the crowded box.
It was hard to tell which of the two teams was in the play off places and which was bottom of the league.
Vauxhall could have taken the lead with the best chance of the game on 57 minutes when Moogan’s cross was hooked off the goal line by Paul Riley, before Noon could pounce.
On 85 minutes, Vauxhall squandered another great chance. Pacey Striker Karl Noon lead a quick attack with a run from his own half which stretched the Badgers defence but with options both left and right, he over hit a through ball to new signing Lee Dodgson and Eastwood Keeper Jan Budtz saved.
In the dying minutes, Moogan fired a dangerous free kick just past the post and Eastwood could have snatched an undeserved victory at the death when substitute Markel Bailey played Danny Holland in behind the Vauxhall defence but under pressure he fired weakly at the keeper.

The Motormen have given themselves a boost with the signing of goalscoring midfielder Lee Dodgson on loan from league leaders Fleetwood Town until the end of the season.
Dodgson signed for Fleetwood in the summer from UniBond League Division North side Lancaster City after scoring nineteen goals from wide positions in the 2008/09 season.
He started his career at Morecambe before spells with Kendal Town and Forest Green Rovers before signing for City where he was a key player before his move to Highbury.
He has made a number of appearances for Town in Blue Square North earlier this season and has had loan spells with AFC Fylde and one of his former clubs, Lancaster.
Vauxhall now have three home games coming up as they try to claw themselves off the bottom of the Blue Square North table.
First up is tomorrow, Tuesday February 9 (7.45pm ko) against Ilkeston Town.
On Saturday, February 13 (3pm ko) Hinckley United are the visitors to Rivacre Park. Tuesday, February 16 (7.45pm ko) is a 'six-pointer' at home to second from bottom side Harrogate Town.
