TITLE outsiders, Newton, maintained interest in the race for the Carlsberg West Cheshire League's Division One championship, after they gleaned maximum spoils from a hard fought 2-1 result over Upton AA.
Goals from Steve Jones and Jerome McIntyre sealed the issue for the fifth placed Frankby outfit, who are handily poised to mount a serious challenge, provided they can win their games in hand. The Chester side's goal came from Simon Andrews.
