FATHER and son were amongst the honours when the Wirral Regattas Committee staged their annual Prize Presentation Evening courtesy of Dee Sailing Club.
James Douglas in Bogtrotter headed the Dart 18 fleet and Cameron Douglas in a Laser Radial topped the Handicap Dinghy section.
The committee was grateful for the vital sponsorshop provided by Dong Energy, Innospec and Sanders Sails.
Other class prizewinners included Trevor Tansey in the Etchells, Mike Hartley in the Falcons, Chris Riley in the Hilbres, Sally Collings in the Mylnes, Gavin Melling in the Operas, Peter Jacobs in the Hilbres, Bruce Watkin in the Stars, Alistair Goodwin in the Squibs and Andrew Potter in the Multihulls.
Isador, helmed by Martin Whittingham-Jones, was the main recipient in the Falcons when West Kirby staged their annual prizegiving at the weekend.
The Star awards were shared amongst David Mayhew (Jupiter), Sirius (Andy Thompson) and the syndicate owned craft Cygnus and Carina.
Chris Riley in Hirondelle lifted most of the Hilbre trophies but there was also success for Roger Glover in Highwayman.
The Marine Lake programme was very much reduced due to repair work over several months but a number of series presentations were made.
At Hoylake the Opera series awards were shared between Andrew Stratton in Silvana and Gavin Melling in La Tosca.
Meanwhile racing continues at West Kirby in the winter lake handicap. Latest successes went to Andy Dawson in an RS 300 Froglet and Rob Thompson in a GP 14 Dee Chariot.
The latest Liverpool / Tranmere races on the Mersey brought wins for Sleeper (Alan Carrier) in Class One and Musketeer (Mike Inman) in Class Two.
