CALDY'S recent winning run in the Bromborough Paints Merseyside and Southport Alliance came to an end at Moorfield, who edged home by 14 runs.
Anthony Sams, 48, and Rich Battersby, 4-67, were best for the Wirral side.
Tranmere Vics remain winless after losing by eight wickets at home to Burscough.
Parkfield Liscard saw off Sutton by 142 runs. Kamran Hussein led the way with a knock of 115. John McClennan struck an unbeaten 57 and took 4-41, while Adam Young returned 4-28.
Birkenhead St Mary's saw off Haydock by nine wickets and had to score highly to do so. Mizan Haq reached 147 not out and Steve McGenity 69 not out in a fine second wicket partnership.
Port Sunlight fell by three wickets at home to Cheshire Lines in the Merseyside Competition.
Maritime won by 64 runs at Hale, but Shaftesbury failed by 117 runs at leaders Old Xaverians despite a hat-trick in a 4-55 tally for Nigel Belger.
Wirral went under by 19 runs at home to CH Ladybridge in Division Three of the Meller Braggins Cheshire League and Parkonians drew with Castrol Superseal. Dave Fletcher made 50 for Parks.
Oxton took the Right Move Abroad Cheshire County League Division One derby against Birkenhead Park by 20 runs and stay top. Anthony Birley claimed 6-46 for Oxton. Best for Park were Zur Rehman, 83 not out, and Ganapathi Vignesh, 4-36.
Upton, currently third in the table, were five wicket winners at Christleton. Anthony Watson reached 43 not out and Gary Dixon took 4-62.
Irby, in Division Two, saw off Sale by 37 runs and head the table. Steve Hurworth contributed 57 and Dave Collyer finished with 4-39.
Neston, in the Premier Division, lost by 101 runs at the hands of Toft.
It was not the best of days for local sides in the David Kaufman Memorial Trophy on Sunday. Parkfield Liscard fell to Competition outfit Old Xaverians by seven wickets. Ashley Young top scored with 67.
Shaftesbury failed by130 runs against Sutton and Bromborough by seven wickets at home to Cheshire Lines after being dismissed for just 35.
Caldy went through, thanks to an eight wicket win at Manweb, with Anthony Sams, 43, and John Battersby, 47 not out, batting well. Dave Kay took 4-29.
Birkenhead St Mary's were given a walk over into the last eight by St Mary's College Old Boys and Port Sunlight play this Sunday at Whitefield.
