CALDY took home all five points from a great encounter against league leaders Chinnor, who missed the chance to deny the visitors by failing to convert a last-minute penalty, instead opting to attempt to score a try that would have seen them take the spoils.

The home side came out of the blocks attacking the Caldy 10-metre line right from the kick off.

Their persistence was rewarded on five minutes when Tom Rambaldo crashed over after good

interplay.

Chinnor were in again after only nine minutes to make it 10-0 and it looked like it was going to be a long afternoon for Caldy.

After 25 minutes Tom Saunders crossed for the first time in the afternoon and thanks to Ben Jones' conversion Caldy were now within a converted try of the home side Eight minutes before half-time Rob O Donnell crossed and although the conversation was missed Caldy held out to go in at half time just two points behind.

The second half was much more of a tight affair with Caldy taking the lead for the first time through a penalty try.

Chinnor hit back with a converted try of their own to take the lead again, as the game headed into the final 10 minutes.

With the crowd roaring the home side pushed for a fifth and decisive try, however it was Caldy who broke away to score what turned out to be the winner through Man of the Match JJ Dickinson.

Caldy will take their great form into the home game against second to bottom Esher at the Paton Field on Saturday with kick-off at 3pm.
