AFTER lifting the Wirral & District FA's Senior Cup the previous week, Newton completed a magical double after overcoming Vauxhall Motors to add the Pyke Cup to this season's haul.

Despite a goal from Alain Moreau, the Motormen were second best on the day, and capitulated 4-1 to goals from Dom Coddington, Liam Smith, Ryan Beigan and Leighton Smith.

Mossley Hill Athletic's hopes of finishing the season with a silver lining were dashed after they lost 1-0 to Liverpool County Premier League champions, Lower Breck, in a keenly contested Liverpool County FA Challenge Cup final.

Wirral SB recorded the same scoreline after a solitary strike from Will Gill saw them pick up the Development Trophy at the expense of fellow Division Three outfit, Capenhurst Villa Res.

In midweek, Josh Donnelly netted for Vauxhall Motors but a smart double from Joe Ormerod assured Upton AA of maximum spoils.

Motors then concluded their season on a winning note at the weekend when Luke Fitzgibbon (2) and Rob Nixon applied the finishing touches in a 3-1 success at Marshalls.

Danny Bulayima obliged for the hosts.

Upton AA also wound up their League campaign on a positive note, after a Lee Guiardo double inspired them to a 3-1 decision in Friday's clash with Rainhill Town.

Liam Vogel, Joe Peacock and Marcus Stewart found the net, as Maghull beat West Kirby 3-1 with Jack Brown in reply.

West Kirby's reserve side scored through Jamie Gaskill, but crashed 4-1 in their Division Two encounter at Cheshire Lines, who celebrated the victory thanks to efforts from Danny Mulville (2), Leon Williams and Conor Porteus.

Matty Richardson bagged the game's only goal as Mossley Hill Athletic Reserves won at Willaston in midweek.

It was a double whammy for the South Wirral outfit who tasted defeat for the second time in four days when Tyler Smith (3), Dean Thomas, Laurence Harris and Lewis Clarke netted as Ashville Reserves romped home 6-2.

Congratulations to Page Celtic, who were crowned Division Three champions at the first time of asking after James Croxton (2), Dave Moore and Dean Shacklock scored in Saturday's 4-1 success at Capenhurst Villa Res.

Goals from Jack Walker and Jack Davies counted for nothing when Ellesmere Port Town Res went down 3-2 to replies from Burscough Dynamo's Paul Bousique-Green, Chris Orritt and Ryan Dobney.

Runners-up Litherland Remyca Res., finished off in style after doubles from Jack and Mark Edwards were supplemented by a further effort from James Hughes in Saturday's 5-3 eclipse of Redgate Rovers Reserves.

In the Youth Division, Literland Remyca Youth's Jack Carr was a three-goal star, but still finished on the losing side, after replies from John Ward (3), Kaleb Jones (2) and Matty Scoullar set visitors Mossley Hill Athletic Youth up for a 7-3 result.
