A competitive encounter was ignited after just eight minutes, when Dom Coddington latched onto a through ball from Ryan Beigan and gave Newton the lead.

The Motormen went in front after four minutes, through Sean Moscrop before Ashville equalised via Ryan Youds and then went in 2-1 up through Ryan Smith.

Vauxhall drew level before the break courtesy of Declan Galllagher, but second-half goals from Youds and Tyler Smith turned the tide in Ashville's favour.
