IT was yet another frustrating week for the Chester & Wirral Football League teams with only a handful of games beating the awful weather that has blighted the season thus far.

Only five of the scheduled 16 games kicked off with one abandoned at halftime after the pitch deteriorated as the game progressed.

Sutton Athletic booked their first final appearance of the season in the Wirral & District FA Amateur Cup Semi Final by beating fellow CWFL side Franklyn's 2-1 with goals from Liam Brennan and Peter Barnett.

Nana Eneh replied for Franklyn's.

Ellesmere Port FC Reserves booked their place in the CWFL Cayzer Shield after a Lewis Fearon goal gave them a 1-0 victory over Upton Bears Paw.

In the CWFL Olympic Trophies Division One Chester Argyle secured a 4-0 win over Hoole Rangers that sees them move off the foot of the table.

Lee Harrison put in a true captains performance, grabbing two goals, followed by Zacc Caveney and an own goal.

In the CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division Three Shane Francis netted a brace for Mostyn Vets as they drew 2-2 with Hartford Vets.

Thankfully there was still plenty of football played in the CWFL this week thanks to our nationally-recognised Flexi 11's.

Once again 100% of the scheduled fixtures took place between all four divisions.
