WATERLOGGED pitches caused many postponements again which resulted in only a few fixtures taking place.

Nelson FC won a hard-fought battle against Poulton Vics 4-3 in the Wirral DFA Amateur cup second round as goals from Callum Morrison (2), John Davies and Lewis James outshone the double from Karl Barker and solo effort of Sean Wright who netted for Vics to seal victory.

The overdue Second Division Cup second round match saw Halfway House evict Seacombe GT FC from the competition in a 4-0 success thanks to a fine treble from Joe Cooper and a single from Dillon James.

Only one fixture in the Second division resulted in a 5-1 victory for Eastham Rangers over Trident that lifts them into the top four.

On target for Rangers were Alex Woods (2), Martin Marshall, Jordan Crowder and Drew Taylor with Ian Duckworth netting the consolation effort.

Wallasey Mens staged the only game in the First division and were rewarded with a 6-1 defeat of AFC Tima whose lone scorer was Mike Redgrift.

A goal apiece from Ben Rourke and Ben Hardwick gave Manor Youth the verdict over West Kirby Wasps in an evenly fought contest in the Youth divisions Cup second round as Jay Rimmer bagged the only goal in reply.

All teams are reminded yet again to check for any fixture changes in February, as cup games may take precedence over league games, but those involved should receive notification.
