TRANMERE Rovers aim to bounce back from defeat in the FA Trophy semi-final when they face North Ferriby United in national league action tonight.

Micky Mellon's team will be looking to pick up three points and put pressure on league leaders Lincoln City during the game at Eon Visual Media Stadium, which starts at 7.45pm.

Rovers, currently third on the table with 67 points, were denied a trip to Wembley on Saturday as Macclesfield dumped them out of the FA Trophy in a tight semi-final second leg at Prenton Park.

They are left to concentrate on their primary goal of promotion back to the football league - with which a trip to Wembley via the play-offs is still a possibility.

Currrently second from bottom on the table, North Ferriby are six points from safety and need big performances if they are to survive relegation in their first-ever campaign at this level. Last Saturday, Steve Housham's side suffered a 4-1 home loss against Solihull Moors.

Looking ahead to tonight's fixture in an interview on the club's website Mellon said: "It's a huge game, but they're all huge matches now until the end of the season.

"We have to look forward and show character, take the Trophy defeat on the chin and keep focused on going forward now."

Mellon admitted he faced a selection headache as he is without a list of players for tonight's game.

Ben Tollitt, Jake Kirby and Darren Stephenson are out with injuries and will not play again this season.

Jack Dunn, James Wallace and Lois Maynard are making good progress in their recoveries, but will also not be available for tonight.
