Lairds launch revolutionary ticket incentive - and we've got some to be won!

3:41pm Tuesday 3rd July 2007

UNIBOND League Division One South club Cammell Laird have announced a groundbreaking scheme that allows floating football supporters to watch quality non-league football on a date that suits them and with a discount of up to 50 per cent off normal match day prices.

The revolutionary Take Your Pick' card has been devised to allow local football supporters to see Lairds celebrate their centenary season and hopefully cheer them on to further glory in their relentless charge up the non-league pyramid.

Deviser of the scheme Paul Mcloughlin told Globe Sport: "It is a common challenge for football clubs at our level to entice people to watch our matches - we are in competition with so many other things that people can occupy their time with on a Saturday afternoon.

"As far as we know there is no other football club offering pay as you go' football in this way. People buy their match credits in either PickFive or PickTen match bundles and can use them when it is convenient to them - they can even bring a pal or two along and use several credits for the same match!

"When your credit runs out, you can simply top up at the same discount rate as your original price."

He added: "We have arranged with the UniBond League to switch our midweek games to a Wednesday night to avoid clashing with Tranmere Rovers and are hopeful that people will take advantage of the scheme and come along to Kirklands as we celebrate our Centenary Season."

The Take Your Pick' cards are priced at 25 for five match credits or 45 for 10 matches. An added incentive is that a season ticket holder from Tranmere Rovers, Liverpool or Everton is entitled to a 10 discount if purchased before July 31 on production of their season ticket! Further details can be obtained by calling 0789 1962 150 or visiting the Lairds website: www.cammelllairdfc.co.uk
