GOALS from Andy Cook and Ben Tollitt earned Tranmere Rovers a comfortable 3-0 victory against Woking last night.

One from Andy Cook and two from Ben Tollitt sealed the win for Micky Mellon's team at the Laithwaite Community Stadium.

It was a competitive first half with both sides competing on a difficult pitch with heavy rain throughout the match.

Woking had the better of the first half opportunities with some dangerous balls going into the penalty area, but Scott Davies only had a couple of saves to make.

Rovers had a couple of chances of their own with Lois Maynard and James Norwood going close of the target.

Six minutes after the restart, Rovers took the lead.

James Wallace drove into the penalty area and broke past a couple of challenges before pulling the ball back to Cook who steered the ball home from 10 yards.

Minutes later, Tollitt scored the first of his two goals when he received the ball off Cook 20 yards out and he slammed the ball into the bottom corner of the net.

Jay Harris came on to replace Wallace soon after the second goal with Rovers pushing for more goals.

On 77 minutes, Tollitt made it 3-0 when he picked the ball up midway inside his own half and ran forward.

He kept going and went past a couple of defenders before smashing home an unstoppable shot from 20 yards.

Jake Kirby replaced Norwood and Cole Stockton was introduced in place of Cook as Rovers played out the final minutes to keep a clean sheet and secure an excellent win.
