TRANMERE Rovers' boss Micky Mellon says his squad are more than ready for this weekend's tough league game against Dagenham & Redbridge at Prenton Park.

Rovers, currently third on the table with 53 points, have not played a league match since New Year's Day, when they were beaten 4-2 by Macclesfield Town.

During a press conference at Rovers' new Solar Campus training ground in Leasowe, this afternoon Mellon said he was looking forward to 'a good game of football' against this weekend's opponents, who are just one place below them in the national league.

The match kicks off a busy few days for the squad, who are in action again on Tuesday, facing Woking in a match postponed last weekend because of a frozen pitch.

Mellon said: "It seems like an long time since the last league game, but we're ready for it.

"The games are coming thick and fast.

"Every game in this division has its different challenges and Woking will be the same; it will be a tough game.

"We'll be prepared for it and do what we have to do to get a result."

Assessing this weekend's opponents, he continued: "They are always tough and have a very experienced manager.

"We know they will be well-prepared and well organised.

"We're well prepared, have had a mental rest and will be good to out and try to get a massive result on Saturday."
