GAMES in the last sixteen of the CWFL Dee 106.3 League Cup and CWFL Devaprint Cayzer Shield were played as the league entered its mid-season break.

In the CWFL Dee 106.3 League Cup Cestrian Alex are in the quarter-finals after dispatching FC UBER 4-2 thanks to strikes from Adi Gough 2, Elliot Davies and Mark Blake.

Aaron Rowlands and Paul Joyner hit home for UBER. Newton Athletic will also be in the hat for the next round as the beat AFC ESSAR 6-2 after extra time.

Tom Vickers and Stuart Clarke had given ESSAR a fighting chance but goals from Lewis Davenport and Dan Christian followed by a brace a piece for Mark Moorefield and Ben Woodman saw Newton safely through.

Division One side New Ferry Rangers beat Premier Division Chester Nomads III 3-1 with goals from Lee Doyle, Luke Cassidy and Adam Bagley.

Cal Bratley 2 and Aaron Hinchcliffe done the job for Christleton Celtic as they beat MBNA 3-0 whilst elsewhere a Lewis Trodden goal was enough for Shaftesbury Youth to beat Higher Bebington Kelma 1-0.

In the CWFL Devaprint Cayzer Shield Overpool Athletic are in the last 16 after seeing off Orange Athletic 7-2.

Andy Merner lead the scoring with three followed by Nathan Brown, Liam Pilkington, Anthony Cox and Jamie Ranford. Kyle and Lee Huish were the marksmen for Princes Villa as they lost 4-2 at home to Clubbies.

James Lehman (3) and Kevin McGovern were the Clubbies’ scorers.

Cam Black (3), James Pemberton (2) and Zach Caverney were all on the scoresheet for Chester Argyle in their 6-3 win over Ellesmere Port FC Reserves, Connor Perrin (2) and Matty Keyhoe.
