A SUPERB double strike from Craig Bennett saw Great Float S&S ride to victory over Buck Inn in the Cheshire FA Cup second round with Tom and James Harris adding a goal apiece to secure a great 4-2 success against difficult opponents.

FA National Cup action resulted in defeat for Millhouse (Mike Reynolds) when they were beaten 3-1 versus Custys and despite Poulton Royal coming from two goals down with strikes from Jay Thompson and Dean Brown to force extra-time they were also beaten 3-2 by Neston Nomads with a very late scrambled goal awarded by the linesman.

The delayed Wirral FA Amateur Cup second round game resulted in stalemate as Liver View drew 0-0 with Shafts 'A', but claimed the result with a 4-3 penalty shoot-out win.

The only Premier division fixture saw Grange Hearts go joint second following their 8-2 success away at FC Victoria who had Matty Kerr and Joel Nelson scoring.

On target for Grange were Andy Noonan with a five goal haul plus singles from Adam Maxwell, Will McFerran and Jack Ollerhead.

Wirral FA Junior Cup second round fixtures saw three teams progress, with two needing penalty shoot-outs to go through.

They were Upton Town who came from 0-2 down to draw 2-2, but they won 5-3 on penalties after extra-time.

Queens Liscard also won on penalties after drawing 3-3 after extra time with Purple Olive, thanks to a Ben Verdin brace and a single from Liam Murphy.

The shoot-out saw Purple miss all four kicks and Queens won 2-0. Wirral SB FC also went through after beating Poulton Vics Youth 3-0 with goals from Adam Rassel-Watson, Jack McGrotty and Lewis Hewson, but not so lucky were PLCCFC (Adam McComb) and Stanleys Cask (Martin Wilde) as they both lost.

In division One AFC Tima climbed off the bottom due to their 4-2 success away at Saddle Inn (Keiran Neilson-2) thanks to efforts from Alan Merrin-2, Mike Redgrift and Charlie Roberts and move up three places.

Still top are unbeaten Lord Nelson who shot to victory when beating Wallasey Mens 6-0 as Jordan Griffiths-4, Karl Barker and Dave King scored but staying second are JASGA who romped home 8-1 over Matrix (Mike Madden) as Ben Speed (3), Stewart Speed, Adam Baxter, Mike Scullion, Tom Freeman and Andy Gibbons found the net.

Goals from Mike Large, Sean Walker, Dan Chamney and Reece Mearns earned Upton FC a 4-3 success that sent Olympic Rangers to bottom place despite Ben Ryan (2) and Danny Payne scoring.

Two games in the Grove Youth Division resulted in Higher Beb moved into third place after their 5-0 defeat of West Kirby Panthers due to an Adam Smith treble and singles from Jeff Marshall and Owen Warrington.

Glenavon Athletic had a convincing 9-0 win against Irby Youth thanks to Nathan Beattie (3), Dan Bergson, Alex Weston, Luke Almond, Josh Kendal, Harry Murphy and Jack Larsen bagging the goals.

Manor Youth (Connor Lloyd-Jones (2) and Alex Lloyd) won 3-2 in the Wirral FA Youth Cup and FC Phoenix (Callum Williams and Lee Lee McNulty) won 2-1 versus Park Royal to go through to round three.
