A BEN Glover hat-trick supplemented by an effort from Cam Chambers anchored bottom club West Kirby to a superb victory over previously unbeaten Carlsberg West Cheshire League Division One leaders Newton, who replied via Dom Coddington and James Murray.

Despite a smart double from Craig Byrne, South Liverpool Reserves were shown the exit when goals from Jack Holden, Jake Prescott and Ivor Rutman steered Bootle Reserves to a 3-2 triumph.

Luke Blondell was three-goal marksman for Neston Nomads but still finished on the losing side after Precot Cables Reserves won 3-1 on penalties following extra time.

Cam McGann and Jack Garriock scored for Mossley Hill Athletic Reserves, who won 2-0 at Vauxhall Motors Reserves and Southport Trinity's fate was sealed, after they went down 4-2 at home to Heswall Reserves.

Hats off to Leon Jones who weighed-in with five goals as Ashville Reserves won 7-4 at Chester Nomads Reserves in the West Cheshire Shield first round.

Nick Monaghan’s solitary effort earned Capenhurst Villa Reserves the nod over Upton AA Reserves – and a fine double from Nathan Midghall proved a telling contribution as Cheshire Lines beat City of Liverpool Reserves 3-0.
