Tranmere Rovers have today completed the signing of 18-year-old striker Ethan Jones on a youth loan from League One side Shrewsbury Town.

Jones has come through the youth academy at the Greenhaus Stadium and signed his first professional contract for the club in October 2015.

He made his senior debut for the Shrews on the final day of last season against Swindon Town.

This season he has made further appearances in the Shrewsbury first team, starting twice and making three additional substitute appearances.

Tranmere manager Gary Brabin said: “We’re delighted to bring Ethan to the club.

"He is a young, talented forward who will give us another attacking dimension.

“We’ve watched him a number of times and have been impressed every time.

"I’d like to thank Micky Mellon and Shrewsbury Town for allowing Ethan to come here."

The loan contract will see Jones at Rovers until January.
