ROVERS manager Gary Brabin said he and the squad are in a positive mood for the final league game of the season against Grimsby Town at Prenton Park on Saturday.
Tranmere go into the clash needing a victory to get into the final play-off position - and for Altrincham to beat Braintree Town.
Brabin said they have to remain focused on doing their job and not worry about what is going on elsewhere.
At TRFC's press conference today he said: "We are going into the game in an optimistic frame of mind.
"We're looking forward to the game.
"It's another match in front of our fans and one which we are going into full of confidence wanting to put on a good performance and get the right result.
"First and foremost I want to focus on ourselves and getting our result right.
"I know from previous experience that if anything happens in the other games, you can tell from the reaction of the crowd.
"It's important that we get it right here at Prenton Park and then let's see what happens elsewhere."
He added: "It's exciting that we're going into the last game of the season with a lot still to play for.
"A lot of things can happen on Saturday and I think it's important that we don't lose focus from what is needed from our end.
“We’ve got a good group of lads who we know will roll their sleeves up and give us the right type of performance.
“If we do that right we’ll get the right result."
Kick off at Prenton Park will be at 5.30pm.
