TRANMERE Rovers have extended the contract of winger Adam Mekki until the end of the season.
The Chester-born player originally signed a six-month deal at the start of the season after impressing during a pre-season trial at Prenton Park.
The 24-year-old has since gone on to make an impact in the first team with 27 appearances and two goals for Rovers so far this season and has become a fans’ favourite at Prenton Park.
The contract extension includes a performance-based option for next season.
Manager Gary Brabin said: "Adam is still young and has a lot of potential and we’ve seen that in the first few months of his time here.
"We know that there is still more to come from him and I’m excited to be able to continue working with him.
"We've given him an opportunity to play a number of games this season, which he hasn't done at his previous clubs, and he's done well so we're delighted that he has agreed to remain at Tranmere Rovers."
