AFTER some confusion dates have now been finalised for major sailing events taking place in Wirral next year.

The ever popular West Kirby Sailing Club Wilson Team Racing Trophy meeting will be over three days on the Marine Lake starting around midday on Friday, May 13.

The Regatta programme will begin on Saturday June 4, with the West Kirby event on the Dee Estuary followed by the Dee Regatta twenty four hours later.

Hoylake Sailing Club will close the local Regatta sequence on Saturday, August 20.

In between will be the West Cheshire Sailing Club and Wallasey Yacht Clubs events off New Brighton on the weekend of June 11 / 12 and the Royal Mersey YC and Liverpool YC Regattas on June 25 / 26.

The Menai Strait Fortnight will run from August 1-13 with the programme including a Hoylake Regatta at Beaumaris on August 10 and a Royal Mersey Regatta at the same venue twenty four hours later.

West Kirby will host the Coastal Championships on the Dee on September 3/4.

The Menai Fortnight in 2017 will have an early start on either Sunday or Monday 23 / 24 July to avoid clashing with the National Eisteddfod on Anglesey and will probably finish on Thursday, August 3.
