TRANMERE Rovers' manager Gary Brabin is expecting a 'challenging' match against Cheltenham Town this week.
Taking place at World of Smile Stadium on Saturday, it comes days after Rovers extended their unbeaten run 3-1 defeat of Aldershot Town at Prenton Park.
During a press conference at the club this afternoon, Brabin said he expected the Robins to be challenging at the top end of the table this season.
He said: "It's a game that's going to be tough, but it's one that we're looking forward to.
"They were the other League club who were relegated with us last season, so we know it will be a tough match. They will be one of the strong contenders this season.
"We want to be a threat as a team and create chances in the third quarter.
"We've got to concentrate on our strengths and weaknesses, but also think about the other side.
"We're still always looking to improve."
Rovers extended their unbeaten run in the National League to six games on Tuesday night, with a comfortable victory over Aldershot at Prenton Park.
It took them to seventh in the table, three points ahead of Aldershot, who slipped to 13th.
Brabin said: "The atmosphere here is fantastic, everyone wants to do well for the Club.
"There's a bit of a bounce at the club, which has never really gone away.
"We want to get a settled side but it's also important to have competition for places. We're working hard to improve the side."
The manager gave an update on the injured players who missed Tuesday's victory over Aldershot Town.
"We'll assess the injured defenders Marcus Holness, Liam Hogan and Martin Riley. Liam has stepped up training today which is a real plus, but we'll know more in the next day or so."
