THE League began a new chapter this weekend with the inaugural games of the newly formed CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division taking place.

Frodsham Park Vets were the divisions top scorers after beating Ashton Vets 4-1.

A brace a piece for Andy Spencer and Lee Lepts secured the points for Frodsham with Ali Richards replying for Ashton.

Dan Brown hit the net twice for Crossway Vets in their 2-2 draw at home to Dee Rangers Vets.

Chris Brookes and Angelo Deponeo were the Rangers marksmen.

In the division's other game a Jonathon Stubbs goal for Nags Head Bunbury Vets was all that separated them from Tarvin Vets in a closely fought encounter.

The next vets fixtures will now take place on September 26.

Birkenhead Town extend their lead at the top of the CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division after Ryan Atherton netted twice in their 2-0 home win over Christleton Celtic.

Whitby Athletic move into second place after a 9-2 win at neighbours Ellesmere Port Town Reserves.

Town were 2-1 up at half-time, thanks to goals by Jack Walker and Jordan Howley but a strong second half performance by Whitby gave them the points.

Lache move into third place after a Warren Kelly brace secured a 2-0 win over Deva Athletic whilst Ben Kierman hit two for Higher Bebington Kelma in a 2-1 away win at Kelsall who had Neil Astbury on the scoresheet with their reply.

Neston Nomads Reserves go joint top of the CWFL Olympic Trophies Division One, thanks to a stunning display from Mark Reeves. He hit four goals for them in their 6-3 win over Elton Athletic.

Shaun Lunt hit the other two.

Nick Jones and Andrew Lewis were both on target for Neston Town in a 2-1 win over Lodge Bar and Steve Thompson and Simon Andrews fired Chester Nomads III to a 2-0 win at home to Cestrian Alex.

Samba maintained their 100% record in the CWFL Link Up Division Two. They travelled to Elton Rigger for an 8-2 win.

Simon Whelan led the way with three, followed by Christian Grey, Stuart Bailey, Garth Higginson, John Britton and Ian Johnson.

Steve Salisbury and Aaron Bradander hit the consolations for the Rigger. Clubbies remain second on goal difference thanks to a 4-1 away win at Orange Athletic.

James Simpson (3) and Jake Johnson did the damage for Clubbies with Dave Jacks replying for Orange. Adam Bagley and Danny Hannagan keep New Ferry Rangers in third place after a 2-0 win at home to Crossway.

MBNA keep with the leading pack after a 7-2 win at Ellesmere Port III.

Paul Rambaldi hit four for the bankers followed by Stephen Benson, Phil Taylor and Mark Johnson.

Eastham Athletic picked up their first points of the season with a 7-0 home win over Hoole Rangers thanks to goals from Dan Piggott (3), Richie Burke (2), Luke Piggott and Ethan Fellowes.

Jack Green hit a consolation for Hoole Youth in their 4-1 defeat at the hands of Ellesmere Port Spartans. Nathan Moffatt, Josh Leadham and Anthony Ferguson (2) were the Spartans scorers.

In the Cheshire FA Amateur Cup both Ellesmere Port and Shaftesbury Youth went out in the first round. Shafts lost 2-0 away to Cheshire League side Crewe FC 2-0 while Ellesmere Port went down 3-2 after extra time to High Lane.
