WIRRAL Gymnastics Club are revelling in their success at their last two competitions.
At the Phil Tighe competition in April, Wirral skipped their way to an excellent total of 22 medals and produced two overall champions and at the recent Cheshire and Merseyside Floor and Vault Championships they managed an exceptional haul of 26 medals.
Three overall champions were crowned. For many this was their first competition where they performed their floor routines to music which made the medal success even more exceptional.
Two-piece squad coach Anna Mackie said: "We are very proud of all the performances the gymnasts put in.
"It's a massive difference going from the routines they were performing at beginner level on judo mats, to being on a full-sized sprung floor to music.
"It's great when their hard work pays off.
"The gymnasts will now continue their hard work in preparing for the North West Floor and Vault Championships in September."
