KENT FC's march towards the Wirral Sunday League’s Division One title was interrupted by arch rivals Neston Nomads, who pulled out all the stops in a barnstorming tussle at the Neston Rec.

A brace of penalties from Richie Foulkes was supplemented by a John Lloyd double and an Ashley Forbes effort, as Nomads romped home 5-1. It was a bad day at the office for Kent, whose only goal came from Colifa Kamara.

Sunday’s Division Two action saw title contenders Wallasey Athletic thrash Bronze 7-0. Inspired by a brace from man of the match John Berry, they went level on points with leaders Port Sunlight Danny Nettleton (2) also made a telling contribution, while Tom Hughes, Aaron Stewart and Danny Price completed the rout.

In the Premier Cup first round, Ben Fitzpatrick scored the only goal of the game as Telegraph edged past Riverside.

Woodchurch Rovers went down 2-0 to Grace Arms, Scott Rowley scoring the opening goal against the run of play before Chris Hughes sealed it after from Stu Jones’ pass.
