ONLY one fixture survived the bad weather and the closing of council grounds and that was the Cheshire FA Youth Cup quarter final between Shaftesbury Youth and Nantwich Town and saw Shafts put on a superb team display to run out 3-0 winners.
Two first-half goals from Tyler Davies and Sam Upton gave Shafts a commanding lead and when Liam McCrellis netted a third in the second period, the game was over as a contest.
They now play the holders Warrington Town next week in the semi-final and the best wishes of the league go to them as they seek to reach the final, which could be an all Wallasey Sunday league affair if AC Hoylake beat FC Spartans to make it through to the last two, so best wishes are also extended to Hoylake who are also flying the flag for the league.
Teams are reminded to check the fixtures for the coming weeks as games have been changed to accommodate postponed cup ties.
