VICTORIA Colts Seniors, emerged 4-3 victors against The Sandbrook in the Wirral & district FA' s Sunday Junior Cup third round, earning a place in the last eight of the competition.

Newcomers, Seniors, have struggled to make an impact in their debut season so far, and the cup victory will have provided them with a welcome diversion.

Gareth Dickinson made three assists for hat-trick hero Colin Westbury and a further effort from substitute Gary Penketh completed a job well done.

Port Sunlight joined Seniors in the quarters, following a convincing 5-1 success at Oval Athletic.

Man of the match Marc Lawlor weighed in with a hat trick and smart double from Danny Nevin completed the statistics.

On the minus side, Kent FC's progress in the Liverpool County CCFA's Junior Cup was interrupted by The Ship, whose first half broadside left Kent trailing 6-1 at the interval. A spirited second half performance from the hosts, in which Colyfa Kamara bagged another three goals to go with his 1st half effort , restored some much lost pride before the visitors ran out 7-4 victors.

In the Premier Division, leaders Neston Nomads, proved too strong on the day for Bronze, and posted a 6-0 victory, with Dean Jones(2) John Lloyd, Richie Foulkes, Jack Rowland and Jay Roberts on target.

Tony Langrell, Dave Favager and Kyle Williams celebrated with doubles as free scoring telegraph came out on top in an action packed encounter with Grace Arms which finished 6-4 in Telegraph's favour.

Battling MSC Eastham had their hands full in containing a rampant Riverside who bagged maximum spoils after winning 9-0. Chris Maddocks and skipper, Gary Clarke were hat trick heroes with Johnny Rathmill and Tom Wilson also contrbuting.
