TRANMERE ROVERS...............2

Attendance: 4,195 (440 away)

TRANMERE Rovers moved off the bottom of League Two after Armand Gnanduillet's double earned a 2-2 draw at AFC Wimbledon.

The French forward, on loan from Chesterfield, twice pegged back the Dons in a performance described by Rovers new manager Micky Adams as excellent.

Jack Smith, a summer signing from Millwall, gave Wimbledon the lead with a clever chip after a failed one-two with Sean Rigg down the left.

The ball rebounded Smith's way and the defender lifted over Tranmere goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams to make it 1-0 in the 16th minute.

Four minutes later Gnanduillet grabbed the equaliser for Rovers with a 25-yard shot which crept in at James Shea's near post.

The Dons regained their lead a minute before the break when Barry Fuller crossed from the right for Adebayo Akinfenwa to head in his eighth goal in nine games.

But Gnanduillet had the final say in the 65th minute with a powerful header from Max Power's corner which leaves Rovers unbeaten under boss Adams - although Tranmere are still without a win since August and remain in the relegation places.

The manager said: "It was terrific, I was really pleased with the effort. I thought they were excellent today. I'm disappointed with the goals we conceded but in general play, particularly in the second half, I thought we were excellent.

"A week ago at Oxford I saw them concede goals and it affected them, their heads went down.

"I've tried to instil into them that while there's still minutes left, don't drop your heads, keep going and show spirit and determination. It was there in the second half.

"We had fantastic support here today, that's why I've lost my voice trying to shout over the top of them.

"It's been a good week for us all in all.

"While we haven't got that win, at least we've scored a goal.

"We're unbeaten since I've been here and we've had a good week's training.

"What we need to do now is not get complacent, work even harder next week and get the three points sooner rather than later."

Rovers will face Stevenage next Saturday at Prenton Park.
