Phil Buckley went in twice for the Blues and Vinnie Dutton also crossed with one conversion by Jack Charlesworth making it 17-11 at the break.

Two penalties by Charlesworth plus the conversion after Joe Silcock touched down looked to be more than enough but Carlisle responded in style to make the try count 4-4 and added important kicks for an unlikely victory Hoylake were edged out 22-24 at Altrincham Kersal in South Lancashire/Cheshire One but it was better for Anselmians who were narrow 31-26 winners over visiting Glossop.
