NEWCOMERS Woodchurch Rovers maintained interest in the race for the league's Premier Division title, after four-goal hot-shot Alan Sutton stole the show in Sunday's 6-2 victory over Wallasey Athletic.

Ian Jones and Jamie Ferguson also savoured a piece of the action, as third placed Rovers registered their third win of the season.

Current leaders Neston Nomads proved too much for game challengers, MSC Eastham and had a five goal marksman in Dean Jones.

Still searching for their first win of the season, Childer Thornton outfit Halfway House had a two-goal blast from Chris Hughes to show for their efforts, but it was visitors Port Sunlight who profited and sustained mid-table safety after winning 6-2.
