DULL conditions failed to dampen the enthusiasm as Royal Mersey Yacht Club staged a successful annual Regatta on the River Mersey at Rock Ferry on Saturday.

A breeze mainly from the east provided a good challenge and most classes were able to complete their full course.

Chris Kay at the helm of Meridian lifted the Regatta trophy for the home-based Mylne Class.

John Collingwood got the right tune out of Disco Volante to head the Etchells whilst the first Squib Tar Baby was in the hands of Mike Davies.

Fiddlers Ferry visitor Reece Tomlinson claimed the Falcon prize.

The two IRC classes brought success for Jonathon Oliver in Eazi Tiger and Adele Farrell in Di-Rich.

The Liverpool Yacht Club Regatta followed on Sunday in sunny weather.

The last of the Regattas under the West Kirby and Dee burgees are scheduled for the weekend of July 12/13 in the Dee Estuary.
