CAPENHURST Villa kicked for home in the race for the Carlsberg West Cheshire League's Division Two title, and went seven points clear at the top, following Saturday's 2-1 eclipse of promotion rivals Helsby.
An Andy Noonan hat-trick was supplemented by further efforts from Mike Large (2), Billy New, Tom Ashcroft and Asley Male, as Willaston top scored with an 8-1 decision over Mersey Royal. Dave Adams, Peter McShane, Tom Jones, Darren Dunne and Adam Winstanley bagged a goal apiece in Heswall Reserves' fine 5-3 win at Marshalls.
Despite a goal from Richie Foulkes, the chances of Heswall retaining their top flight status suffered further following a 1-1 draw with South Liverpool, who had the Division's leading marksman Cameron Dalton on target.
Chris Bowe's double anchored West Kirby to a 2-1 win at Mossley Hill Athletic, while Craig Cairns, Danny Dixon, Adam Lea and Jon Strange all made the score sheet, as Cammell Laird Reserves accounted for Blacon YC 4-1.
Newton's winning streak continued thanks to a 5-0 blitz of Christleton, which featured efforts from Brad Smart, Paddy Hamid, Don Huston, Lee Kissock and John Murphy.
