TRANMERE Rovers' assistant manager John McMahon has injury concerns ahead of his squad's League One match against Swindon Town tonight.

Midfielder Jason Koumas and Steve Jennings and defenders Stephen Arthurworrey and Danny Holmes look set to be on the bench for the game at Prenton Park, which starts at 7.45pm.

Koumas played through the Port Vale game on Saturday with a toe injury and has shown no signs of improvement since, while Arthurworrey picked up a back injury and was substituted during the second half.

Jennings missed the match with a knee injury and Holmes was withdrawn from the side ahead of the game after injuring his knee during the warm up.

Striker Abdulai Baggie is also ruled out with a knee problem while Evan Horwood has joined Northampton Town on loan.

Tranmere, currently 20th on the League One table, have 39 points from 37 games.

At Prenton Park this season they have won five, drawn six and lost seven.

They were beaten 3-2 by Port Vale at home on Saturday.

Swindon come to Birkenhead at eighth place on 51 points, seven points below the play off places.

On the road the Robins have won three, drawn six and lost ten. Swindon boss Mark Cooper is without the suspended Alex Pritchard while Nathan Byrne is set to miss out with a hamstring injury and Ryan Mason is unavailable following ankle surgery.

Rovers have seven games left until the season ends.

Their busy week of league action continues at home on Saturday, against Carlisle, who are just one place below Rovers on the table with 31 points.

McMahon said: "It's a tough week in terms of games and getting those much-needed points.

"We need to pick up those points at home and away. Every game is a big game. In fact, every game is like the FA Cup to us.

"We need to cut out the stupid mistakes we are making. We’ve got very good support at home. It's good for the squad's morale."
