YET again the wet weather caused the council to close all grounds, but one Cheshire FA Youth Cup quarter final took place away in Nantwich and saw Vauxhall Colts coast to a 4-0 victory over Nantwich Town with a magnificent team performance that had Jordan Howley netting a double and both Adam Hughes and Tom Edwards bagged singles as they secured their semi final place.

The scheduled meeting for all youth teams took place as planned, with only one team failing to be represented and that was New Brighton Youth, who will be dealt with by the League Management Committee accordingly.

All those present were made fully aware of the need to ensure league directives and the Laws of the Game were to be adhered to at all times.

It was also made clear that it was their responsibility to ensure their players, committee members and supporters acted respectfully to all opponents, match officials and league officials at all games.

They were also told of the need to eradicate indiscipline by players and spectators alike and to help prevent problems on and off the field of play.

The LMC stated they understood frustrations and passion when fixtures are being played, but told every club present that these should never over shadow the need to show restraint.

Again they were reminded that the use of foul and offensive language would not be tolerated within the league and that the LMC would take whatever action necessary to eradicate such behaviour, even if it meant the recommendation of expulsion of teams from the league at the AGM.

Overall, the messages provided at the meeting were accepted by the teams and it was felt that only good should come from the assembly, providing they pressed home the points made to all their club members.

Scheduled fixtures for the remainder of the month should be as stated, weather permitting and cup semi-finals will be provided to those clubs involved and also placed on the website.
