TRANMERE Rovers kick off their League One Christmas fixtures with a match against Gillingham at Prenton Park tonight.

Striker Ryan Lowe says the game, kicking off at 7.45pm, will be a chance to get back to winning ways after a run of defeats.

Rovers are currently in 20th place on the table with 20 points from 20 games. At home this season Moore's side are unbeaten in their last three games and have won two, drawn three and lost four.

The go into tonight's game aiming to put the back to back defeats at Peterborough and Carlisle behind them.

Lowe, who scored his 13th goal of the season at Brunton Park, told the club's website Tranmere Player: "They're all big games over the Christmas period and it's up to us to put a performance in.

"Hopefully the fans will get behind us and drive us on to three points.

"We weren't up to scratch on Saturday and the best thing to do is to put a performance in and get ourselves back on track.

"Watching back and analysing has helped me over the years and we did that on Sunday and the lads know now.

"The last couple of days have been tough in training, defending and set pieces, and the lads have been different class at it.

"It has been time consuming but you have to do these things. Having conceded goals the way we have been you have to put the work in.

"Hopefully on Friday night we can put it right and get three points."

Manager Ronnie Moore hopes to have James Wallace available for tonight's game.

The midfielder was named on the teamsheet for the defeat at Carlisle but pulled out during the warm up due to a tight groin.

Andy Robinson is expected to return to the squad after more than three months out because of a knee injury and hernia operation while Steve Jennings and Abdulai Baggie are back in full training. However, Ian Goodison remains unavailable due to a groin injury.

Rovers are currently in 20th place on the table with 20 points from 20 games.

At home this season Moore's side are unbeaten in their last three games and have won two, drawn three and lost four.

Gillingham come to Prenton Park three places and two points above Tranmere. On the road Peter Taylor's side have won two, drawn one and lost seven.

Leading scorer for the Gills this season is Danny Kedwell with ten goals.
