BOTH of the league's final 100% records went down the pan at the weekend, after Division One leaders Higher Bebington RBL finished second best to Bebington.

The third-placed challengers remained unbeaten following a superb 4-1 victory which eroded the leaders' advantage to two points and kept Bebington poised with a game in hand.

Doubles from Darren Graham and Stuart Hardman cemented a job well done.

Joe Allinson and Jordan Griffirhs found the net for Primrose Liscard, but their contribution failed to count after Wallasey Athletic Town rallied through Simon Austick, Danny Price and Kev Winders to clinch a 3-2 victory while Forum Athletic hit top form with a 6-1 win against MSC Eastham endorsed by doubles from Andy Williams, Chris Jones and Mikey Dunn.

In the Premier Division reigning champions Neston Nomads were the other side who relinquished their 100% record after 90 minutes failed to produce a goal between themselves and Kent FC.

Mike Hughes netted for Towers but it was second-placed Riverside who profited after two-goal Chris Maddocks left his customary calling card. His match-winning strike was a stunning long range volley.

Division Two leaders Champions Bar stayed five points ahead and scored via Adam Threlfall and Jamie Payne, but were denied easy pickings by a resilient Port Sunlight who salvaged a welcome point after they came back with goals from the club's leading marksmen Gary Richards and Steve Bevan.

A sixth win of the season elevated Bronze to second place in the table when four-goal hot-shot James McAllister had a field day in Sunday's 5-1 result over Star Ozzys.

Robbie Nugent's effort completed the statistics.

Dark horses Greave continued their steady climb up the table after they took the honours following a fine 3-0 win at Halfway House.

Ben Parker, James Hughes and James Pinkham were on target for the Upton outfit, who at this stage look a good bet for promotion.

Gladstone Athletic's clash with Bromborough was curtailed after 35 minutes after a Gladstone player sustained a broken leg.

Main contenders for the Division One title are all in action again this Sunday as leaders Higher Bebington RBL entertain Wallasey Athletic Town; Bromborough Social put the welcome mat out for Forum Athletic and Bebington lock horns with MSC Eastham.
